St. Joseph’s Health Centre President Announces Retirement
After a forty-year career in healthcare, David Wormald, President of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph, will retire this spring. David’s unwavering leadership has guided St. Joseph’s through significant change and growth over the last seven years. With his help, we weathered the COVID-19 pandemic, embarked on a new seniors’ housing project and most recently, secured government approval for an upcoming 160-bed long-term care expansion including our region’s first 32-bedBehavioural Support Transition Unit.
“What a privilege it has been to work alongside the staff, physicians, patients, residents, families and volunteers. When I think about all we have accomplished together, especially over these last few years, it is clear what a special place St. Joseph’s is,” offered David Wormald.
“I also wish to thank our remarkable community of donors for their generosity, compassion and belief in the important role St. Joseph’s plays in our region’s healthcare. Donations touch the lives of our patients and residents every day and we rely on them to help ensure we can continue providing the highest level of person-centred care,” shared David.
While David’s selfless leadership and passion will be dearly missed, he has built a strong foundation that positions St. Joseph’s to face the challenges ahead while continuing to provide our community with the best rehabilitation, palliative, long-term and complex hospital care.
