The government funding we receive is never enough to fully cover the costs of vital medial equipment and technologies, renovating care species and enhancing the specialized programming and services that thousands rely on each year.

St. Joseph’s Health Centre is Guelph’s only rehabilitation/complex care hospital and the regional leader in seniors’ care. Our rehabilitation, complex hospital care, long term and palliative care wrap around people and their loved ones as they face significant and life-altering health challenges. We care for those recovering from surgery, injury, illness and/or chronic and complex medical conditions. Our post-acute healthcare, programming and services are vital to ensuring all of us have access to the healthcare we need, when we need it, where we need it.

St. Joseph’s supports people’s health and well-being across their lifespan. Our programs play a crucial role in strengthening our community’s overall healthcare system by:
• Allowing those with complex medical needs to transition out of acute care and receive the specialized programming and services they need to continue their recovery and rebuild their life
• Relieving the overcrowding and admission wait times in acute care settings
• Ensuring people can successfully and confidently return home after a major health event
• Supporting individuals to live in their own homes for as long as possible
• Providing stimulating and compassionate long term care

We continue to see dramatic increases in the demands on our healthcare system in Guelph and Wellington County. We live longer with more complex medical conditions. Our senior population continues to grow at a record-breaking rate. Healthcare organizations are experiencing unprecedented staffing shortages. The gaps in healthcare equities are growing.

“Our community has responded in so many ways to support those who need the service of the Health Centre,” shared Sera Filice, Chief Executive Officer of St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation. “We are so grateful for your dedication to meeting the needs of St. Joseph’s patients now and in the future, enabling those facing a life-altering health crisis to live their best life possible.”

“The care I received at St. Joe’s wouldn’t be possible without the support of our community. Every single piece of equipment I relied on for recovery was there
because of generous donors, and I know every future patient will need that same commitment. ”
