2018 Taste of Guelph Fresh Faces and Old Friends
Over the past 20 years of Taste of Guelph, St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph has built many lasting relationships with the leaders of our region’s culinary scene. Guelph and our neighbouring cities are continually expanding, and this means that we get to make new culinary friends every year!
2018 Taste of Guelph Fresh Faces
One of our fresh faces for 2018 is TOMME Cheese Shop. TOMME is not only brand new to Taste, but is also new in Guelph. TOMME’s owner, Andrew Wheeler, realized that Guelph was lacking an artisanal cheese shop, so he brought his vision to life. TOMME offers a wide variety of Canadian and international cheeses as well as complementary foods like olives, salami, spreads, and crackers. Be sure to visit them at 34 Carden Street when they officially open this summer.
Another new participant is Chocolats Favoris, a Quebec-based company that just arrived on Clair Road in Guelph. In addition to chocolates, they offer a delicious array of ice cream and gelato — which is dipped in chocolate, of course.
2018 Taste of Guelph Old Friends
As we welcome our Taste of Guelph fresh faces, we also recognize those who have been with us for many years.
Returning for their 17th year, is Platters Catering & Events, owned by the talented chef Kevin Malinski. In addition to preparing delicious and beautiful menus for personal and corporate events of any size, Platters can also plan the entire event, including décor and equipment rental. Platters wows us every year with their culinary creations
Also this year, we are celebrating two decades of friendship with Wellington Brewery, who always bring their tasty craft beer to Taste of Guelph. Established in 1985, Wellington Brewery is Canada’s oldest, independently-owned microbrewery. Their focus has always been on creating well-balanced beers that bring people together, and we can’t wait to see them again at Taste this year.
We are truly thankful for the contributions of all of our fresh faces and old friends.
Make sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook for more updates and sneak-peaks at our stellar participants — and don’t forget to buy your tickets! All proceeds support vital equipment needs for St. Joe’s so we can continue to provide the care our community relies on.
