Taste of Guelph: Best Brews
Every year, Taste of Guelph raises thousands of dollars to support vital equipment needs for St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph, and over the last five years has raised an amazing $600,000. But it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our generous food and beverage participants, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees. With the cancellation of Taste of Guelph 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our turn to support those who help make our event so successful. Check out the blog below to see how you can support local!
There is no doubt that Guelph is home to some phenomenal brews. Just in time for the long weekend, sip some sours, imbibe some IPA’s or pour some Pilsners- these breweries have a little something for everyone…well…everyone 19+.
Beau’s All Natural Brewing
You’ve probably seen Beau’s at your local LCBO or Beer Store, or on tap at one of your favorite restaurants. If you haven’t tried one of their brews yet, you’re missing out! Looking for an adventure? Try their Country Vibes brew. According to Beau’s, this beer cannot be defined by just one style of beer, but is an amber lagered ale, rich in colour and toasty sweetness, balanced by clean, crisp hops.
Check out their website to see their amazing selection, or to order online https://shop.beaus.ca/collections/beer
Von Bugle Brewing
Von Bugle Brewing was born when Steam Whistle Brewing wanted to grow, but didn’t have the room within their space at the well-known Roundhouse. Found at most LCBO and Beer Store locations, it is a Munich Lager created using German long-aging brewing methods. Don’t let its dark colour surprise you though, it’s crisp, smooth with gentle bitterness and malt sweetness.
Fixed Gear Brewing
If you haven’t been to Fixed Gear Brewing yet this summer, you won’t want to miss out on their dog-friendly patio (don’t forget to keep your pooch leashed and close)! Sleeman Breweries
Since 1988, Sleeman Breweries has been brewing delicious beer in Guelph with the original, handwritten Sleeman recipe book. Today, it is the third largest brewery in Canada and still continues to use a small-batch brewhouse to craft high-quality beer. Not only have they been a Taste of Guelph participant, but an amazing sponsor for our beloved garden party fundraiser.
