Every year, Taste of Guelph raises thousands of dollars to support vital equipment needs for St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph, and over the last five years has raised an amazing $600,000. But it wouldn’t be possible without the support of our generous food and beverage participants, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees. With the cancellation of Taste of Guelph 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our turn to support those who help make our event so successful. Nothing goes better with weekend bacon and eggs than a Pommies Mimosa Cider. A fun twist to the brunch classic, Pommies Mimosas are a blend of cider made from 100% Ontario apples and orange juice. As a Taste participant for 5 years now, Pommies comes all the way from their cidery in Caledon, ON- a testament to their generosity and philanthropic nature!
Next up, Spring Mill Distillery located at 43 Arthur St S, Guelph! On the menu for Cocktail Hour is a drink as pretty as it is tasty: a Pink Gin Mojito! Stop by and order one by the glass or take home a bottle of their Pink Gin and make them at home!
Spring Mill Distillery Pink Gin Mojito Recipe
In a Highball Glass over ice, combine;
1.5 oz Spring Mill Pink Gin
1 oz Lime Juice
1 oz Maple Syrup
1 Mint Leaf (Smacked, to release the essential oils and flavours)
1 Lime (Squeezed)
- Top with Soda Water
- Stir until all contents are well mixed
- Garnish with a lime wedge and mint leaf
- Enjoy outside!
Get your camera’s ready because you’re not going to want to miss the drink photo-op at Gin Mill! Located in downtown Guelph at 107 Wyndham Street North, Gin Mill was last year’s Taste of Guelph Signature Drink sponsored by Miller Thomson! Try their Strawberry Lemonade Gin Slush on the patio or in their dining room.
Last stop, Dixon’s Distilled Spirits located at 355 Elmira Road N, Unit 106! Not only has Dixon’s been a 5-year Taste of Guelph participant, but they are also major philanthropists in our local community. When COVID-19 struck back in March, Dixon’s was quick to make room in their production line for alcohol based hand sanitizer to donate to local health care providers!
