Every year, Taste of Guelph raises thousands of dollars to support vital equipment needs for St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph, and over the last six years has raised an amazing $600,000. Without the support of our generous food and beverage participants, sponsors, volunteers, and attendees, Taste of Guelph simply would not be the afternoon of great food and great fun in support of a great cause that it is. With the cancellation of Taste of Guelph 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it is our turn to support those who help make our event so successful. This week we are celebrating #TasteTuesday in excitement as we give you some inspiration just in time for Wine Wednesday. All four of these wineries have a unique selection that can be enjoyed both in their Tasting Rooms and in the comfort of your own living room!

Cox Creek Cellars Inc.

Cox Creek Cellars has been a Taste of Guelph participant for over 20 years. They are located in Guelph at 7686 Wellington Road 22, and have an amazing selection of wines! They are currently in the process of making this year’s delicious apple wines- stop by their store or call (519) 767-3253 to try some for yourself!

Check out this Fall Sangria recipe they created for this year’s Taste of Guelph Signature Drink. While you may not be able to sip it on the grounds of St. Joseph’s, you can enjoy it in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Cox Creek Cellars’ Autumn Sangria with Apple Dream
Ingredients:

1 bottle Cox Creek Apple Dream wine
1 cup caramel flavoured vodka

6 cups apple cider

2 medium apples, cored and sliced

cinnamon sticks

Instructions:
In a glass pitcher, stir together the wine, vodka and apple cider. Add the sliced apples and ice. Stir again. Serve over ice in individual glasses, and garnish with additional apple slices and cinnamon stick for stirring.

Reif Estate Winery is one of Niagara-on-the-Lake’s original wineries, and their wines today are still produced from its vineyard first planted in 1977! Try out their Drea’s Sauvignon Blanc 2017, a Bronze Medal Winner in the 2019 National Wine Awards of Canada!

Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery

 

Sprucewood Shores Estate Winery is Ontario’s only beachfront Winery! Visit them at 7258 City Rd 50 West, Harrow (or it may say Amherstburg on most GPS devices) to shop, sip wine by the glass, or enjoy a picnic lunch! Looking to try some of their wines, like this 2019 Pinot Noir with a vanilla, floral nose and Smokey cherry and strawberry notes, sooner than you can visit? Look for them at your local LCBO!

 

 

 

Vineland Estates

Vineland Estates Winery is open year round, and not only offers several exceptional wine tasting experiences, but delectable menu items at their restaurant. They’ve recently added new items to their menu like Pork Tenderloin, and don’t forget to ask your server for great wine pairings!
