W.C. Wood Foundation Announces Remarkable $500,000 Gift to St. Joe’s Building Better Healthcare Campaign
St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph was honored to welcome members of the W.C. Wood Foundation, who were joined by hospital leadership, care teams, patients and community leaders, to announce their remarkable $500,000 leadership gift to St. Joseph’s Building Better Healthcare Campaign.
This recent gift brings their total contribution to the Campaign to over $750,000 and acts as a continuation of a long family tradition of caring for others and strengthening the community.
St. Joseph’s historic $15 million Building Better Healthcare Campaign will support significant enhancements across St. Joseph’s Health Centre, including the creation of new patient rooms, revitalization of care spaces, expansion of therapeutic and clinical programs, and investments in new equipment and technologies. These improvements will ensure St. Joe’s continues to deliver the exceptional, compassionate care our community relies on.
As Guelph’s only complex care and rehabilitation hospital, St. Joseph’s plays a vital role in supporting people facing life-altering health challenges, advanced disease or terminal illness. The Building Better Healthcare Campaign will ensure St. Joe’s will be able to meet our community’s growing demands on healthcare while preserving its deeply rooted commitment to dignity, comfort and healing.
Susan Frasson, W.C. Wood Foundation representative and Honorary Building Better Healthcare Campaign Chair, shared how her family’s philanthropic spirit has spanned generations. “My family has always believed in the importance of caring for others and giving back to the community. I have personally witnessed the exceptional and compassionate care that St. Joe’s provides, not just to patients, but to the families who stand beside them in moments of uncertainty or fear.”
Frasson emphasized her family’s hope that their gift will inspire others to join them in supporting this vital campaign. “Healthcare affects every single one of us. We are incredibly fortunate to have an institution of this calibre right here in Guelph, and we hope our gift encourages our generous community to come together to strengthen St. Joe’s today and well into the future.”
Sera Filice, CEO of St. Joseph’s Foundation expressed profound gratitude for the W.C. Wood Foundation’s generosity.
“This campaign is critical to ensuring we can continue offering the exceptional, unstoppable compassion that defines St. Joe’s,” said Filice. “The W.C. Wood Foundation has been a true partner in our mission for many years. Their leadership, vision and remarkable support will help us transform care environments, modernize our facilities and give our staff the tools they need to provide the very best care to every person we serve. We are deeply grateful for their commitment and leadership of this Campaign.”
St. Joseph’s Building Better Healthcare Campaign was launched this past May, and community support will be essential to achieving its ambitious $15 million goal.
